12. Purussaurus : The Ravenous River Giant
Crocodiles may seem daunting, but they pale in comparison to Perusaurus. Measuring an astounding 35 feet long, this prehistoric crocodile-like dinosaur was as big as a school bus. To satisfy its colossal appetite, Perusaurus consumed approximately 90 pounds of food per day, about twenty times more than the modern American alligator. It had a diverse diet, feasting on creatures ranging from car-sized turtles to giant ground sloths. With a bite force estimated to exert eleven and a half tons of pressure, Perusaurus possessed a bite twenty times stronger than that of a great white shark, making it a formidable predator.
