Sitting across from the stern-looking officers, Dave felt his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn’t understand why they were questioning him as if he had done something wrong. Confusion and anxiety filled his mind.
The officers posed numerous inquiries about the drain and the dog, using a tone that made him feel accused. Dave’s hands grew sweaty, and his mouth went dry as he tried to explain himself. The whole situation overwhelmed him, and he couldn’t grasp what was really going on.
