6. Flat-Headed Cat
Flat-headed cat, a name that doesn’t do this unique feline justice. Found in Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia, Myanmar, and Thailand, this cat’s diet mainly consists of fish, and its unusual shape makes it a great fisher. With large eyes, a sloped head, and small ears, the flat-headed cat is designed for quick dives into the water to ambush unsuspecting fish.
Its sharp molars enable it to hold onto slippery fish with ease. Sadly, over 70% of its natural swampy habitat has been converted to plantations and croplands, making it one of the most threatened species of cat in the world. With less than 2500 believed to be left in the wild, its future is uncertain.
