13. A Public Proposal Gone Wrong
A lavish public proposal can be romantic, but it can also be a recipe for embarrassment if it doesn’t go as planned. In one instance, a Brazilian man went all-out with a surprise proposal in front of a crowd, only to be turned down. On live TV, a woman proposed to her partner, who responded with a lukewarm “Yeah, go on.” Both incidents left the proposers in awkward situations that made viewers cringe.
