20. Basenji
The Basenji is a special dog that comes from Africa. What makes it unique is that it doesn’t bark like other dogs. Instead, it makes a sound called a “barroo” or a “yodel.” This dog has a short, shiny coat that comes in different colors. Basenjis are very clean and like to groom themselves, similar to cats.
They are smart and independent, but sometimes they can be a bit stubborn. Basenjis were originally used for hunting small animals, so they have a strong prey drive. They’re good at jumping and climbing, so having a secure yard is important. These dogs are loving with their families and can get along with kids if they’re introduced properly.
