The Samoyed is a really fluffy, white or cream-coloured dog that originally came from the Laika breed. The Laika is a kind of spitz dog with a thick, white coat. The Samoyed dog first appeared in Siberia, where it lived with roaming reindeer herders. It got its name from the Samoyedic people, the ones it lived with back then.
These furry dogs still have their instincts to herd things, and they can be a bit stubborn but also friendly. They usually live for around 12 to 13 years, and the males can weigh up to 66 pounds. They crave a lot of attention and company. If they’re left alone, they might start wrecking things because they feel sad.
Samoyed accounts on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook gather thousands and thousands of followers. People really adore these big, fluffy, white dogs that look like bears. Samoyeds always appear to be smiling, which matches their lively, outgoing, playful (even a little bit mischievous) nature. Their thick, double-layer coats need a lot of brushing to stay nice.
