24. Czechoslovakian Wolfdog
Average Price: $1,500*
Country of Origin: Czech Republic/Slovakia
The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is known for its greyish-silver and yellowish-grey fur. This dog’s history goes back to 1955 when it was created as part of an experiment by a group in Czechoslovakia. Even though it looks like a wolf, it’s actually a friendly dog.
It’s a sociable dog, but also very energetic and brave. This makes sense because it comes from mixing wolves and guard dogs. These dogs are quite rare, with only around 340 of them registered in countries like Slovakia and Italy. This rarity is why they are quite expensive, costing up to £1,500.
Even though these dogs are definitely good companions, it’s important to know that the Czech Wolfdog is not allowed in forty states. These states have laws against having or breeding dogs that are part wolf. Even in states where it’s allowed, the rules can be different in various areas. Sometimes, stories of people having these dogs illegally even end up in the news on channels like Fox or CNN.
