The Bedlington Terrier is sometimes called “Rothbury’s Lamb,” which makes sense when you see how it looks. Originally, it was bred to catch pests, but it started racing and entering dog shows. Even though it seems calm, the Bedlington is actually good at swimming.
Breeders said it could fight well against another dog its size, but it’s friendly with people (especially kids). This dog comes from Northumberland and lives around 13.5 years. It’s closely related to the Whippet.
These Terriers are lively and loving. They still have strong hunting instincts and a good sense of smell. The tallest a Bedlington Terrier gets is about eighteen inches. You might see it impressing people at NBC dog shows. Besides being a hunter and show dog, the Bedlington is also a wonderful friend.
