13. Spinosaurus : The Aquatic Giant
Spinosaurus, often referred to as a nightmarish mix of a crocodile and a T-Rex, holds the title of the largest carnivorous dinosaur ever known. This colossal beast reached lengths of up to 59 feet and weighed a staggering 22 tons. Unlike other carnivorous dinosaurs, Spinosaurus was primarily adapted for aquatic life, with its elongated snout and conical teeth designed for catching fish. Its distinctive sail-like structure on its back remains a mystery, but some theories suggest it aided in stability while swimming. Unfortunately, global warming led to the drying up of North African marshlands, depriving Spinosaurus of its fishy feast and contributing to its extinction.
